Laura C. Remp, 92, died Thursday (July 19, 2001) at Newton Medical Center.
She was born Dec. 19, 1908, in Humbolt to John G. and Sophia Amelia (Kober) Remp. She worked at the flour mill for Ross Industries, retiring in 1972 after 28 years of service. She was a member of the First United Methodist church and the Fidelis Sunday school class.
Survivors include three sisters, Martha A. Stewart, Elsie S. Remp and Emma R. Gaiser, all of Newton; three nephews; and five nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters; four brothers; and a niece.
Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home. Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Greenwood Cemetery. The Rev. Jay Anderson of First United Methodist Church in Newton will officiate.
Memorials have been established with Central Homecare and Hospice in care of Broadway Colonial Funeral Home in Newton.
