Flight Engineer of B-24H Liberator #42-95084, nicknamed "Bird Dog."

Crashed into the Halvergate Marshes, 12 miles ESE of the Rackheath area, Norfolk, England after takeoff on a combat mission from USAAF Station 120 (Attlebridge) flying in instrument conditions in very poor weather. Nine crew members were killed:
