Daughter of William Frank and Eva Mae White Mitts. First married to Guy Woods Jones on July 31, 1925 in Weed, Siskiyou County, California. They had five children when they divorced. She then married Edgar James Brown on October 6, 1935 in Weed, Siskiyou County, California. They had no children.

She was active in the Assembly of God Church in Weed before moving to Gerber, Tehama County, California where she went to the Indian Mission. After Ed died she moved to Sacramento to be closer to her son Stanley. She was a very creative person. She loved to sew, crotchet, made cloth dolls, retored dolls, writing poems, etc. When she passed away her dolls were donated to the Sacrmanto Children's Home.
