J.W. Bridges Dies At Hospital
James William Bridges, 81, retired farmer, died 10:20 a.m., Sunday at the John Graves Ford Memorial hospital after a short illness.
A native of Owen County, he was a son of the late Hiram and Sarah Cassity Bridges and was a member of the Georgetown Christian Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Alla Dean Huddle, Louisville; and one son Cecil Bridges, Georgetown; one sister Mrs. James Gibson, Stamping Ground, one brother Hiram Bridges, Midway; and one grandson.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Tucker Funeral Home, conducted by Rev. George Jacobs, pastor of the Georgetown Christian Church. Interment was in the Georgetown cemetery. Pallbearers included Earl Watson, John Porter, James E. Glass, O.B. Wilder, Ewell Gibson and W.G. Bridges.
