Mr. Acy, 74, died of pneumonia Saturday, Feb. 16, 2008, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Jackson.
He was born in Carroll County on Jan. 16, 1934 to Grady A. and Stella (Winters) Acy. He attended public school at Black Hawk. He owned Acy Electric Service in Greenwood for 40 years. He was a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church. His hobbies were metal and woodworking and gardening.
He was preceded in death by his father, Grady A. Acy, and a brother, Joe E. Acy.
He is survived by his wife, Loretta Robertson Acy of Black Hawk; two daughters, Donna Acy Reid of Birmingham, Ala., and her husband, Bill, and Marsha Acy Clark of Tupelo and her husband, Jack; a son, Stanley J. Acy of Starkville and his wife, Linda; mother, Stella Acy of Black Hawk; three brothers, Billy Acy of Carrollton, Jerry Acy of Madison and Larry Acy of Killeen, Texas; a sister, Delores Tackett of Black Hawk; and four grandchildren, Clay Reid of Pelham, Ala., and his wife, Jamie, Emily and Erin Reid, both of Helena, Ala., Rachel Reid Morris of Chelsea, Ala., and her husband, Casey, Justin Clark, Preston Clark and Janna Clark, all of Tupelo, and Carley Acy and Katie Acy, both of Starkville.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 tonight at Williams & Lord Funeral Home in Greenwood.
The Rev. Jody Wooten will officiate at the services, and the Rev. Tommy Williamson and the Rev. Casey Morris will assist.
Pallbearers will be Clay Reid, Justin Clark, Preston Clark, Allan Daves, Ronnie Robertson and Randy Tackett.
Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Bowie, Carl Clark, L.C. Ellis, Tom Ed Guest, Malone Dunn. Nathan Nobles and Parker Robinson.
Burial will be at in Mount Olive Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Mount Olive Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 68 CR 158, Coila, MS 38923.
