CAMERON – Funeral services for Alfred Rudolph Kohring, 93, of the Clarkson Community were held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 5, 2004 at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home in Cameron with Rev. James T. Wheeless officiating. Burial followed in the Ben Arnold Cemetery. He died Friday, April 2, 2004 in a Cameron hospital.
Mr. Kohring, a retired farmer, was born Nov. 29, 1910 in the Vogelsang Community of Milam County to William and Marie (Roeder) Kohring. He moved to Clarkson in 1931 and in 1934 married Ella Ottmer. He was a member of the United Church of Christ in Ben Arnold where he served in many capacities.
Preceding him in death was his wife, Ella in 1999.
Surviving are: Son, Nelson Kohring and wife Beverly of Irving; sister, Nora Starnes of Cameron; grandchildren, Paula Barbee and Stephen Kohring; great-grandchildren, Joshua Barbee, Jessica Barbee, Jordan Kohring and Brandon Kohring.
