He leaves his wife Flora (Kulpa) Armstrong; a son Howard E Armstrong Jr of East Haddam; two daughters Mrs Jacqueline Bower of East Haddam and Mrs Dorothy Barnes of Piermont, NH; thirteen grandchildren; a brother Clifford Armstrong of Middlefield; and seven sisters Mrs Robert Snow of Wolcott, Mrs J Frank Bartley of Enfield, Mrs Ray Bowen of Miami Springs, FL, Mrs Jack Graham of New Haven, Mrs George Wolfe of Middletown, Mrs Clifford Anderson of Manchester, and Mrs Arthur Nelson of Middletown.
Burial is in St Bridgets cemetery in Moodus, CT.
