"Death of C. H. Bowery.
Charles H. Bowery, a former well known citizen of Wahoo, but recently of Yutan, died at Lincoln about eleven o'clock last Saturday forenoon. Mr. Bowery has been suffering for some time and Friday he was taken to Lincoln to be operated upon for a severe rupture, but in his enfeebled health he did not rally from the shock to his system. The remains were taken to Yutan, passing through Wahoo, where the funeral was held Monday from the home of Mrs. A. Carr, Rev. Barnes officiating. The remains were then brought here and were laid to rest in Sunrise cemetery. The deceased was born in Laselle county, Ills., sixty years ago and was married to Miss Carrie Boud in Ottawa same county in 1873. He came with his family to Saunders county in 1880. He leaves a wife and four children, Mrs. May Watson, Mrs. Effie Skiles and Dora and Rexford. The sorrow-stricken family have the heartfelt sympathy of a large number of friends in Wahoo, Mead, Weston and Yutan where the family have lived."

"DEATH ROLL. Charles H. Bowery, Yutan.
Yutan, Neb., June 28.--[Special.]
On last Thursday, Charles Bowery of this place was taken ill. He has never been well on account of a rupture. It soon became apparent to physicians who were called that an operation must be performed, and on Friday evening he was taken to Lincoln. The operation was performed the next morning, but he died while still under the influence of the anesthetics. His body was brought back to Yuan, where it lay until Monday, when it was taken to Wahoo. The Rev. O. L. Barnes spoke a few words of comfort to the bereaved at the house. Mrs. Bowery accompanied her husband to Lincoln and was beside him when he died.
The deceased leaves a wife and four children. He was well known at Wahoo, Mead and Yutan, having been in the restaurant business at each of these places. He was about 60 years of age.
Mead, Neb., June 28.--[Special.] The sad intelligence of C. H. Bowery's death was a shock to our little town. He was proprietor of the Mead hotel until a year and a half ago, when he sold out and moved to Yutan, engaging in the restaurant business. Mead people extend sympathy to Mrs. Bowery and children."
