Bernice May Bailey, 94, of Burlington, died at 10:20 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 17, 2008, at Great River Medical Center-Klein Center in Burlington.

Born June 20, 1913, in Muscatine, she was the daughter of Laurence and Fern Willard Kuechmann. On July 11, 1930, she married Harold Lester Bailey in Wapello. He died Nov. 13, 1986.

Mrs. Bailey was fabric buyer for Schramms for 15 years. She was manager of House of Fabrics. She was a member of Ruth Chapter Kings Daughters, League of Women Voters and Burlington Professional Women. She was affiliated with St. Luke's United Church of Christ. She enjoyed sewing and doing English smocking.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, two brothers and two grandchildren.
