Zaharias Stergios "Jack" Balahtsis, was bornAugust 10, 1937, in the village of Milochori to Stergios Zaharias and Stiliani (Vavouras) Balahtsis, Greece. At age 85, he passed away peacefully at his residence on Thursday, December 15, 2022, in Upper Arlington. Ohio.
Zaharias was a member of St. George Greek Church in New Port Richey, Florida and the founder of Jacks Inc., a worldwide wholesale manufacturer/distributor of equine supplies.
Jack was a hardworking and generous person who enjoyed playing poker, watching sporting events and spending time with his family.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Stergios Zaharias and Stiliani (Vavouras), brother-in-law Alexander Kollias and son Nick Balahtsis.
Zaharias is survived by his son, Steve (Ronda) Balahtsis and daughter Dede (Shawn) Dean, grandchildren Zach, Alexia, Kallista, Angel, Mario, Demetre, Gabrielle, Alex, Chris and Dominic, seven great grandchildren, siblings Katina (Alexander) Kollias, Nick (Eftihia) Balahtsis and Sultana (Nick) Harvey, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
