Born in New Orleans, "A.C." as he was called by his family and friends, was the cherished son of the late Adolph Charles Wahlen Sr and Ursula Jackson Wahlen. Brother of Sylvia Ziegler (Don). Father to Cheryl Hages (Richard), Adolph Wahlen III (Jennifer), Eric Wahlen (Jan). Husband of 41 years to Brenda Ellerbusch Wahlen. Stepfather to Tommy Anderson (Faith). He was the proud grandfather to Nicole Hammett (Trevor), Richard Hages (Lindsey), Charles Hages (Kelli), Jessica McAfee (Thomas), Andrew Wahlen, Connor Wahlen, Erica Olson (Olaf), Josh Wahlen, Jason Wahlen (Sydney), Ryan Anderson, and Matthew Anderson. "A.C." was blessed with eleven beautiful great-grandchildren and thirteen nieces and nephews.

Alumni of the Warren Easton Class of '58, "A.C." was a member of the first class of LSUNO. A man of great charisma, compassion, love of tennis, and sense of freedom that he shared with his "brother from another mother" Ray Marrone on their beloved motorcycles, wind in their hair, "heading down the highway looking for adventure and whatever came their way."

The family would like to express our heartfelt appreciation and gratitude to The Carpenter House Hospice for providing a kind, attentive staff and peaceful environment.

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, November 15, 2022 from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Jacob Schoen & Son Funeral Home, 3827 Canal St, New Orleans, 70119. Interment will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery 4900 Airline Dr, Metairie, 70001.
