B. L. Hamilton, 85, County Pioneer, Dies at Home Here
Benjamin Lee Hamilton, 85-year-old pioneer Pittsburg County resident, died at his home at 516 South Eighth Sunday. Hamilton was born April 19, 1871, at Nashville Tennessee. His wife, the former Florence Mickle of Fort Smith, Arkansas, preceded him in death in 1951. He was a member of St. John's Catholic church in McAlester. Survivors include three sons, Cecil, Grady and Ben Hamilton, all of McAlester; three daughters, Mrs.. John (Hazel) Fitzpatrick, McAlester, Mrs. O. W. (Virginia) Davison, Norman, and Mrs. A. B. (Mary Agnes) Clement, Wetumka; two brothers, Noah Hamilton and Henry Hamilton, Fort Smith, Arkansas; 12 grandchildren and eight great grand children. Rosary will be recited at the Humphrey Funeral home tonight at 7:30 o'clock. Funeral services will be at St. John's church at 9 a.m. Tuesday with Rev. F. F. Mies officiating. Burial will be in Mount Calvary cemetery under the direction of the Humphrey Funeral home. Pallbearers will be Matt Patterson, John E. Layden, Joe Joyce, J. E Armstrong, Ray Swilling and Louis Gaberino.
