Mildred was raised and attended school south of Weatherford and graduated with the Class of 1948. She attended college for a year. On December 22, 1952, Mildred married A.G. Wood in Weatherford and made their home in Wichita, Kansas. They moved back to Weatherford and in 1955 moved to Sayre to raise their family. She worked at Sayre Hospital and later a dentist office before retiring in 1983. Mildred enjoyed singing in the choir, her church activities, traveling and spending time with family and friends.
Mildred is survived by her son, Dale Wood and wife, Patricia of Yukon; her daughter, Linda Wood of Yukon; her sister, Joan Balkcom and husband, Don of Albuquerque, N.M.; her sister-in-law, Leona Alexander of Owasso; and one grandson, Andrew Wood. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; five brothers, Leroy, Wilbur, Rueben, Walter and Ernest; and three sisters, Erma, Marion and Eloise.
