Kirk Robert Burns, 22 , passed away Monday, February 18, 2008, near Nara Visa, New Mexico.
Rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM CST on Thursday, February 21, 2008, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Nara Visa, New Mexico and Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM MST on Friday, February 22, 2008, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Clayton, New Mexico. Fr. John Shedlock will be the celebrant. Burial will follow in the West Nara Visa Cemetery by Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton, New Mexico. Kirk Robert Burns was born on August 9, 1985, in Amarillo, Texas to Jimmy Burns and Liz (Libby) Burns. He attended school in Logan, New Mexico and graduated from Logan High School in 2004. Kirk then attended the Ranch Feedlot Operations Program at Clarendon College and graduated in 2005. He worked for his Granpa, Chappy Libby. for a while and then returned to the family ranch in 2007. Kirk attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Nara Visa, New Mexico and St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Clayton, New Mexico.
Kirk was preceded in death by his Maternal Grandfather, Chappy Libby on February 8, 2006, by his Maternal Great-Grandparents, Gertrude and William Bolz and Norman and Esther Libby and by his Paternal Great-Grandparents, Jim and Willie Burns and John and Maysie Burns.
Kirk is survivied by his parents, Jimmy and Liz Burns of Nara Visa, New Mexico.; brother, Derek Burns of Las Cruces, New Mexico; sister, Ashlee Burns of Las Cruces, New Mexico; maternal grandmother, Juanita Libby of Amistad, New Mexico; paternal grandparents, Robert and Pat Burns of Nara Visa, New Mexico; several aunts, uncles, great aunts, great uncles and cousins.
The family suggests that Memorials be made to the Memorial Scholarship for the RFO Program at Clarendon College, care of the First National Bank in Logan, New Mexico.
