Kermit Stanley, 87, of Lubbock, passed away Feb. 18, 2008, at Covenant Medical Center. Graveside services will take place today, at 1 p.m. at Resthaven Memorial Park under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home. Visitation will be held today, from 12 p.m. until time of service at Resthaven.

Kermit Garland Stanley was born Dec. 11, 1920, in Paducah, to parents Georgia (Osborn) and John O. Stanley. On Oct. 31, 1940, he was married to Lucille Stephenson. He had worked as a master electrician and as a barber prior to his retirement.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Maurice and Mandi Stanley and Ray and Ava Stanley, all of Lubbock; a daughter and son-in-law, Lynette and Fred Smith, of Lubbock; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Lucille, who passed away in 2003.
