February 10, 1939 - January 14, 2022 Barbara Kardashian Carr passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by loved ones on January 14, 2022 at the age of 82.

Born February 10, 1939 to Arthur and Helen Kardashian in Los Angeles, California, Barbara was the eldest of three children and loved her little brothers. They were always close; the best of friends. Family was everything to Barbara growing up, and she lived within walking distance to her aunties, grandmas and cousins and spent much of her spare time with her extended Armenian family.

As a child, Barbara enjoyed reading, writing, doodling and shopping with her mom. Barbara graduated from Dorsey High School in 1957. She loved school and school government, serving as the Dorsey High class president. Over the years, she especially loved planning high school reunions and gatherings and did so up until her 80th birthday, where she threw a big 80th class birthday party at her home.
After high school, Barbara attended the University of the Pacific and then transferred to the University of Southern California, where she graduated with a bachelor's degree in dental hygiene and met her husband Don Carr.

Barbara and Don were married in 1962 in Los Angeles, and then moved to Palo Alto, California where Barbara worked as a dental hygienist and supported her husband Don as he earned a master's degree in business administration from Stanford University.

Later, Barbara and Don moved to Inglewood, California and had three children Ken, Tim and Cheryle. In the early 70s, the family moved to Newport Beach, California.

For 21 years, Barbara and Don owned 4-Day Tires, which was open peak days Wednesday through Saturday and became the largest independent tire sales operation in the country at that time. Barbara and Don enjoyed raising their three children in Newport Beach, and traveling for business, pleasure and with the Young Presidents' Organization (YPO). Barbara also volunteered her time as a dental hygienist.
It was during this time Barbara became a strong Christian and gave her life to the Lord. In a letter to her children, Barbara said her joy and life was full and fun because and ONLY because of Jesus Christ her foundation stone, and her relationship to Christ dictated her actions and style. Jesus gave her peace, energy and freedom to love others.

Barbara studied theology at Fuller Seminary and devoted her time to the Calvary Chapel, Newport Mesa Christian Center, St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Christian Women's Club, as well as numerous bible studies and prayer groups she led.

After Don Carr passed away, Barbara married Roy Freeman, and they had a wonderful and fun marriage. Such a colorful couple, Barbara and Roy enjoyed entertaining, traveling, collecting art and enjoying life together.

Barbara was so stylish, ahead of her times loving animal prints and bright colors and rarely without her bright red lipstick. Her smile was joyous and contagious. Welcoming to everyone whether they just met or were friends for years, Barbara loved entertaining and threw the BEST, most creative parties. Her home was always open to her "Walkers" (her walking group of 30+ years), knitting group, Mexican Train players, prayer group, and many, many friends and huge family.

As the matriarch of her family, her grandchildren were her pride and joy. She always had to know what was new with each one of them, and they always got just what they needed and loved at her house. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Barbara is survived by brother Tom Kardashian (Joan); children Ken Carr (Hope), Tim Carr (Jennifer), Cheryle Carr (Kirk Robinson), and Virginia Freeman (Don Robb); grandchildren Ethan, Carly, Brynn, Christopher, Kelley, Nicole, Ava-Lauren, Brandon (Christina), Connor and Owen; great-grandchildren Hazel and Acacia.

She was preceded in death by her brother Robert Kardashian, her husbands Don Carr and Roy Freeman, and Roy's son David Freeman.

A celebration of life will be held for Barbara at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Ararat Home (westside guild of the Ararat Home, c/o Ms. Lynette Amerian, 5655 Jumilla Ave., Woodland Hills, CA 91367) and Royal Family Kids (c/o Tony Choi, 3000 W. McArthur Blvd., Ste 412, Santa Ana, CA 92704) in her honor.
