Richard Leroy Holman, Sr. was born on March 6, 1933, to Violet Holman in Olympia, WA. He passed away peacefully on December 18, 2022 in Tacoma.
Richard spent most of his thirty- year career as a production manager at Fick Foundry and two years at Atlas Foundry.
Richard or Dick as he preferred, was a devout Christian, hunter, fisherman, motorcycle enthusiast, water skier, boy scout troop leader, outdoorsman and a family man. He was a member of the Packwood Foursquare church.
He is preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his four children Lois Holman, his mother Violet Holman, brother Robert Holman, sisters Violet Deeds and Evelyn Parker.
He is survived by his wife of 31 years Marilyn Holman, his son Richard Holman Jr., daughter Kathryn Thompson (Robert Sr.), son Larry Holman, daughter Janice Sylstad (Dale). Grandchildren Curtis Marzano (Brixey), Stephanie, Daniel Bortle Sr. (Nicole), Robert Thompson Jr. (Kimberly), Kevin Thompson (Claire), Richelle Sylstad-Monaghan (Sean), Jesse Sylstad (Ryann), Krista Holman (Chan), Zackary Mumford. Great Grandchildren Leanna Bortle, Ariona Thompson, Daniel Bortle Jr. (Bubba), Peighton Bortle, Haileymay Thompson, Robert Thompson III, Raylan Marzano, Clara Thompson, Bianca Monaghan and Colby Sylstad.
A memorial service will be held on Friday December 30, viewing at 10:00am followed by a service at 12:00pm at the Chambers Creek Chapel at the New Tacoma Cemetery.
