On September 29, 1950, Anne married Richard Dale Hicks and they remained married until his death in 2010. Anne and Richard moved to Merritt Island in the early 1960s and were very active in the First Baptist Church of Merritt Island. Anne served at their church in many roles and was one of the first women on the pulpit committee that brought Adrian Rogers as pastor. In 1966, Richard and Anne Hicks became owners of the Christian Bookstore and Supplies along with Al and Pat O'Hara, Nelson and Flo Rutledge, before becoming sole owners of the bookstore. Anne's life was surrounded by church and the bookstore which they owned for 41 years. They had three different locations along Courtenay Pkwy. Anne was passionate about sharing her faith and her love of reading with others. She shared her love of books with everyone she knew but especially her grandchildren. Anne and Richard raised two daughters sharing their love of travel with RV trips during the summers. Anne had many creative interests like stained glass and painting, but she really loved ceramics.
