Marie was the daughter of Friedrich Wilhelm and Caroline Muller. When her husband Fritz died, she set aside a piece of the farm as a cemetery. She later transferred the cemetery to the town of Ben Arnold for public use. Her son Fritz Jr. ran the family farm until he died.
