Edgar Robert Boyd was the 3rd child of Marshall Thomas (or Matillion Thompson) Boyd and Amanda Jane Cox Boyd. He served in the US Army in WWI (Co. C, 344th Machine Gun Batallion), where he fought in the Saint Michael offensive. He married his wife, Maude Gail Strobel, on October 2, 1917. He and Maude had 8 children: Forrest Max, Alda Jane, Thomas Lee, Robert Wayne, William Dale, Vernon Lynn, Audrey Nell, and Carol Kay (Carol died shortly after birth). Edgar worked in a number of jobs in and around Medford, Oklahoma. He died at his home in Medford on October 15, 1971, and is buried next to his wife in the Pond Creek Cemetary.
