He was the brother of Lt. Thomas Clark, and Aaron were both captured by the British and held in a prison ship in the harbor of New York. Thomas Clark had the worst treatment, he was not fed by the British an in the dungeon. Other prisoners pushed some food through the keyhole. He survived to the end of the war but his health never recovered and he died young. Aaron had enough food to eat that he was able to survive longer than Thomas did.
Aaron and Thomas had siblings named : Abraham Clark who died young, Hannah Isabel Miller, Andrew Clark, Sarah Edgar, Elizabeth Clark, Cavalier Clark, Dr. Abraham Clark, Mary Clark, and Abigail Salter Clark.
Aaron was the father of Hannah Clark, Abigail McLean, Elizabeth Cramer, Hatfield Clark, Winans Clark, Josiah Clark and Susannah Clark.
Aaron and Thomas settled in Washington County, Pennsylvania, Chartiers Township after the war.
Aaron's will was written August 4, 1811 and his will was probated January 4, 1812 His son Josiah Clark was the executor of the will. His wife Susannah received an inheritance, his sons Winans and Hatfield inherited the money he had given to them in his lifetime and nothing else. Four daughters Elizabeth, Hannah, Abigail and Susannah divided the rest of the estate. The three youngest daughters were given from his estate what was needed to raise them and school them and bed and bedding and table linen. Josiah inherited the rest of his estate.
Aaron died in Washington County, Pennsylvania in Chartiers Township.
