Orlan ABBOTT, born January 17th, 1805, died April 12th, 1900, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Geo. CORBER, at the ripe old age of 95 years, 2 months and 25 days.
He was born in New York and with his father moved to Ohio in 1820. In the year 1930 he was united in marriage to Miss Lucinda T. ANDRUS from which union nine children were
born, six sons and three daughters. In 1840 he moved to Kansas, locating near the present town of Ozawkie, and has been a permanent Jefferson Co., citizen for 31 successive years.
He was a devout Christian man all of his life.
Three of his children survive him, two sons and one daughter, all of which were present at his funeral.
The funeral services were conducted by Rev. McAferty, at the Pleasant View Chapel, after which the remains were intereed in the Pleasant View cemetery.
