Born in Providence, a son of the late Peter F. and Winifred C. (Regan) McGarry , he lived in Warwick for 30 years.
Mr. McGarry was an Army veteran of World War II, and a member of the American Legion.
He leaves a son, Peter J. McGarry -Lefebvre of Johnston; two brothers, John M. McGarry of Greenbush, Mich., and retired state police lieutenant Francis P. McGarry , of Lincoln; three sisters, Winifred M. Miley of Jamestown, Lillian E. Chalmers of East Providence, and Jean M. McGarry of East Greenwich; and three grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Stephen P. McGarry .
The funeral his held Wednesday from the Frank P. Trainor & Sons Funeral Home, 982 Warwick Ave., with a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Timothy Church, Warwick Avenue. Burial with military honors was in the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Exeter.
