George Donald Blizzard, age 88, passed away Sunday, January 1, 2023 at The Lodge Rehabilitation in Rocky Mount, NC. He was born in Edgecombe County, NC on December 22, 1934 to George W. and Ella Mae Young Blizzard.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of sixty-two years, Gladys Blizzard; sons, Phillip E. and Timmy D. Blizzard; grandson, Jeffrey Wheeler; sisters, Mazie Bradshaw, Eunice Todd and Edith Thompson. George is survived by his son, Timothy Donald King Blizzard and wife, Debra of Panama City, FL and good friends, Terry and Linda Tyson of Spring Hope.

George was a proud military veteran, having served honorably in the United States Air Force. He enjoyed listening to country music and laughing at good jokes. He was a simple man who loved his family and friends and he will be dearly missed.

A graveside service will be held at 2pm, Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at Mill Branch Cemetery, 5597 S Halifax Road, Rocky Mount, NC 27803. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
