Gloria Lorraine (Pinky / Foo Foo) Kramer of Los Angeles passed away Wednesday, February 13, 2008 at the UCLA Medical Center with family members at her side.

She was born April 6, 1923 in Saint Paul, Minnesota, the daughter of the late Harry John and Marie Lena Spangenberg.

In addition to being the "perfect" Mom, Gloria enjoyed a very dynamic volunteer, professional, and philanthropic career. She was active throughout her rich life in the Boy Scouts, PTA, John Tracy Clinic, Spastic Children's League, John Thomas Dye School, Harvard School, Webb School, the City of Whitefish, Montana, and the Village Church of Westwood, where she served as a Sunday School teacher for many years. Gloria was a member of the Beach Club (Santa Monica), and Sempervirens Redwood Association.

Gloria's greatest joy and achievement was undoubtedly raising her five boys and family. Her career also included employment with the Northrop Aircraft Corporation during World War II, and the Bank of America. Later in life, she founded Jacques Interiors and spent many of her happiest moments designing, decorating, and installing fine artwork and furnishings for family and friends. She was also a vice president of Los Serranos Golf & Country Club.

She lived with passion, enthusiasm, indomitable spirit, and unique joyfulness that were outshone only by her bright pink Ford Thunderbird convertible. All who knew Gloria were attracted to her generosity, kindness, loyalty, sense of humor, infectious laugh, and deep love for her family.

Gloria will be greatly missed by her loving husband of 63 years, Jack Kramer; her five "perfect" sons David (Rosie), John, Bob (Katrinka), Mike (Sandra), Ron (Hollie); her grandchildren Amber (Chad), Scott, Joanna, Andrew, Michael, Jack, Kodi, Kylie, Samantha (Nick), Brandon, and Blake; her brother Bob (Bonnie) and sister Muriel.

The Kramer's wish to thank all of Grandma Foo Foo's extended family, friends, household staff, special nurses, caregivers, and patient medical team who all helped so very much to keep her comfortable and extend the quality of her wonderful life. In so many positive ways, she was truly larger than life and words alone cannot possibly express the loss that we have all experienced.

A Graveside Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, February 22, 2008 at the Woodlawn Cemetery, 1847 14th Street, Santa Monica, California 90404; (310) 458 – 8717.
