Obituary;
Wanda June Ivie, age 75 passed away on Friday, January 6, 2023, at her home in Tool, Texas. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Wanda was born on October 29, 1947, in Winter Haven, Florida to Gerald & Rachel Jones. Wanda was raised in Winter Haven until her family moved to Dallas, Texas. She graduated from W. H. Adamson High School in 1965. After high school, she attended Southwestern Assembly of God College in Waxahachie, Texas.

In February 1971, while attending an event at First Assembly of God in Mesquite, Texas, a young man saw her sitting across the congregation and told his friend that he would marry her one day. After the service, Mike asked Wanda out to dinner, and nine months later, on November 27, 1971, just one week after Mike's 18th birthday, they were married in Winter Haven, Florida.

Wanda worked at Winter Haven Hospital in Florida. After nearly nine years in Winter Haven, they moved back to Dallas together where Wanda briefly worked at Mesquite Community Hospital before becoming a floral designer. Wanda spent many years as a Missionettes leader and after retiring from The Floral Group she became a private caregiver.

Wanda was a fantastic cook and baker. She will always be remembered for her homemade chocolate cake and chess pie.
She loved to sing and was always very active in the church choir. Of the many songs she loved to worship with, the most requested was 'His Eye Is On The Sparrow' and 'Angels'.
Wanda enjoyed water skiing, riding motorcycles, traveling with friends, going to the beach, and she loved spending time with her grandchildren. She had a great talent and prided herself in being a perfectionist as a seamstress, making all types of clothing including wedding gowns.

Wanda Ivie is preceded in death by her parents, Gerald and Rachel Jones, her brother Timothy Jones, her firstborn son in 1975, and her son-in-law Danny Ray Hardman.
She is survived by her loving husband, William Michael Ivie of 51 years: daughter Amy Hardman Dunn and husband Mike Dunn: son William Chadwick Ivie and fiancé Jessica Caldwell: son Jared Noah Ivie and wife Melanie Ivie. Her seven grandchildren also survive her: her granddaughter, Laney June Dunn, and grandsons Clancy Dunn, Cash Dunn, Nate Ivie, Gavan Ivie, Blake Ivie, and Drew Ivie.

Celebration of Life will be held at the Christian Center of Mesquite on Saturday, January 21, 2023, at 10 am. At a later date, Wanda will be laid to rest at a private burial at Younger Cemetery in Silver City, TX.
