Marsha Elaine Acree, 62, of Hardin, died Sunday, January 8, 2023, at NorthCare Hospice House in Kansas City.

Marsha was born on October 11, 1960, in Independence, the daughter of Arvil E. "Sparky" and Margaret Etta (Reynolds) Foley. She was united in marriage to Johnny Eugene Acree of Hardin on September 4, 1982; he survives of the home.

Additional survivors include: two sons, Brandon (Alison) Acree of Hardin and Christopher "Cody" Acree (Mary Simon) of Hardin; six grandchildren: Bentley, Burton, Brynlee, Bo, Cohen and Parker; brother, Mark (Sally) Foley of Henrietta; and special cousins, nieces, nephews and her many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister-in-infancy, Janet Louise Foley; nephew, Micheal Foley, nephew, Dustin Morton, great niece, Journey Foley, in-laws, Charles Acree, Dale and Mary Linebaugh, brothers-in-law, Larry Linebaugh and Robert Linebaugh.

Marsha was reared and educated in Hardin and graduated from the Hardin-Central High School Class of 1979. After high school, she first attended The Jenny Lund School of Practical Nursing where she received her LPN. She then attended Penn Valley to become a Registered Nurse. Marsha was a well-known figure at Ray County Memorial Hospital where she has worked for 42 years. She currently worked in utilization review office at the hospital. She was a member of the Board at the Salvation Army in Richmond, she was Chaplain for Post 487 of the Hardin Ladies Auxiliary and instrumental in 4 Queen Recycling in Hardin. She was of the Baptist faith and attended Hardin First Baptist Church. She had a love for all animals. Most of all she was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made in Memory of Journey and in honor of Mara to the Children's Mercy Hospital or Ray County Humane Society. They can be left at or mailed to Thurman Funeral Home, 507 East Main Street-P.O. Box 190, Richmond, MO 64085.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 14, 2023 at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, January 13, 2023 at Thurman Funeral Home. Burial will be in Richmond Memory Garden Cemetery.
