Harvey was born to Benjamin Hill Sheffield and Emeline Franklin. He lived most of his life in Batesville, Ar but also lived in Guion, Izard Co AR, Flint Ridge, Stone Co AR, Muskogee & Tulsa OK. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Batesville. He was a retired manager of a truck line, farmer, and owner of rental property. Harvey had a daughter, Emily Sheffield, by his first marriage in Izard Co AR to Della Flynn. He then married Sarah Lou Vada McGee. Their children: Roy Dale, Virginia, Bernice, Harvey Thomas "H.T." Jr. and Rufus Lawrence "R.L." Harvey & Vada had two grandchildren: Nancy Dale & Connie Mae Sheffield.
