Agathawas a Dutch civilian war casualty of World War II. He died alongside his niece in an massive Allied-led air raid on the city of Nijmegen.

"Agatha Maria was the daughter of the postman Arnoldus Antonius("Arnold") Orie (*Leeuwarden 16-01-1836 -- +Zwolle 15-09-1875) and Johanna Croone [n]("Anna")(1835? -- +Nijmegen 28-11-1913). They were married on 11 May 1861 in Leeuwarden. They had five children there. Around 1870 the family moved to Zwolle.

Father Arnoldus had meanwhile become a conductor by profession, but he died in 1875, only 39 years old. Agatha Maria is then three years old. Shortly after the death of father Arnold, another daughter was born Antonia Arnolda, who married the sexton Antonius Hermanus Wolters in Zwolle in February 1904. In 1907 the Wolters-Orie couple appears to be living in Nijmegen. The widow Anna Orie-Croonen also moves to Nijmegen, where she dies in 1913. In 1918 the Nijmegen address book shows that the unmarried knitter Agatha Maria also settled in Nijmegen, close to her younger sister Antonia Arnolda Wolters-Orie.

In 1944, the then 71-year-old Agatha Maria fell victim to the February bombardment in Houtstraat. Her final resting place is the Catholic cemetery on Daalseweg." (source: https://www.oorlogsdodennijmegen.nl/)
