Lois was born July 29, 1931 to Archie and Dorothy (DeLong) Auker, the 2nd of 7 children. She was a Howell resident for nearly 70 years and retired from McPherson Hospital around 1982. Lois was also a recipient of the American Business Women's Association award in 1976. She later earned her certificate from Ross Medical School and worked for the University of Michigan until she retired again in her 70's. She loved to cook, bake, craft and was a talented seamstress. Lois was a woman of faith who loved the Lord, her family and church.
She is survived by her children Lee (Marge) McKenzie, Marsha Kizer, Greg (Tammy) McKenzie, Bill (Becky) McKenzie and Tammy Dickinson, her son in law Tom Strobl; 13 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
Lois was preceded in death by her husband Albert Youmans, daughter Kay (McKenzie) Strobl, grandson Truman Strobl, son-in-law Sam Dickinson and 5 siblings.
She leaves a lasting legacy of strength, wit and love and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 12, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Watkins Brothers Funeral Homes MacDonald Chapel, 315 N Michigan Ave, Howell, Michigan. Burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Grand Blanc. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM and Thursday 10:00 AM until the time of the service.
