Jonathan G. Springer Had Farmed in Benton County for Many Years
Jonathan G. Springer, a resident of Philomath and that community for many years, died at 3 o'clock Saturday afternoon at the Deaconess Hospital In Salem where he was taken two weeks ago for medical attention. He was aged 92 years, four months and 3 days and was one of Benton County's oldest citizens.
Mr. Springer had been a farmer in the Philomath district for many years and Mrs. Springer died at the family home there in 1902. He is survived by three children, Mrs. Evadna Stahl, a teacher in the Bellfountain school; Mrs. Verna Hard, Oakland, Calif, and Clare G. Springer of Mount Hood. The funeral service was held this afternoon at 3 o'clock in the drawingroom of the Hollingsworth Funeral Home, with Rev. Henderson of Salem, formerly of Philomath, officiating. Interment was in Mount Union, (Newton) Cemetery.
