Delaware State Police on Monday released the names of three people, including two from Berks County, who were killed in a two-vehicle crash on Christmas Eve near the seashore town of Lewes.

Jessica Guida, 35, and Jovie Wright, 9, both of Temple, died in the crash Saturday night, troopers said. Also killed was Gerald Huss, 74, of Lewes, Del, they said.

Troopers provided this account:

An SUV driven by Jason Wilcox, 46, of Millsboro, Del., was traveling on Lewes-Georgetown Highway (Route 9) toward Minos Conaway Road about 8 p.m.

A minivan driven by a 42-year-old man from Temple was stopped at a stop sign on Minos Conaway Road at Lewes-Georgetown Highway. The minivan driver tried to turn left and pulled into the path of the SUV, leading to a collision.

Guida, Wright and Huss were thrown from the minivan and killed. Three other passengers — a 2-year-old boy, a 4-year-old boy and a 67-year-old woman —were transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The minivan driver, whose name wasn't released, was treated for minor injuries.

The identity of the SUV driver wasn't known because the driver fled the scene on foot.

An investigation determined the driver was Wilcox. Late Sunday afternoon, Wilcox was located at a residence in Millsboro and taken into custody without incident.

Wilcox has been charged with three counts each of leaving the scene of a collision resulting in death and leaving the scene of a collision resulting in injury. He was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution in lieu of $18,500 bail to await a hearing.
