Jean Zimmerman Fink, 79, of Middletown, Ohio, died early Wednesday morning, Aug. 2, 2006, at her home.

Born Dec. 31, 1926, in Middletown, Ohio, she was the daughter of James and Florence (Noe) Sloan. She was a former resident of Gratis, Ohio, where she was a self-employed beautician, before moving to Middletown in 1992. Later, she was employed as a mill clerk and worked in scheduling at Armco for 15 years, retiring in 1990.

Mrs. Fink attended the Breiel Blvd. First Church of God where she volunteered her time, and formerly attended the First Brethren Church of Gratis. She was a founding member of the Gratis Mothers' Club.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Robert L. Zimmerman, in 1972; four sisters, Edith Shafor, Evelyn Cunningham, Helen Carter and Ruby Woodie; and three brothers, Earl, Hubert and James Sloan.

Survivors include her husband of 28 years, Thomas Fink; three children, Roberta (Steve) Raps, Martha (Jim) Davis and James Zimmerman; a sister, Joan (Gene) Fletcher; two stepsons, Glenn and Jeff Fink; 10 grandchildren, Rachel Zimmerman, Jaclyn Zimmerman, Brad (Tara) Proano-Raps, Doug Raps, Rob (Kristy) Pheanis, Jeff (Jill) Pheanis, Chelley (Michael) Lopez, Brandon, Mandi and Angie; 13 great-grandchildren, Kyle, Ryan, Ella Grace, Savannah, Chandler, Camaron, Sierra, Alex, Mariah, Paris, Allen, Christopher and Shawn.

Funeral services were Saturday, Aug. 5, at the First Brethren Church, Gratis, with Pastors Robert Shannon, Eric Newell and James Roberts officiating. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery, Gratis.
