Obituary: John C.(Bert) Johnson, 88, formerly of Rockford, died today in Sioux Falls, S.D. in the home of a daughter, Mrs. C.W. McDonald, formerly of Rockford. Mr. Johnson was born June 15, 1869 in Rockford and lived here about 30 years. He was married to Anna Masterson in Elgin on October 15, 1895. They observed their 60th wedding anniversary in 1955. She died October 4, 1957. Mr. Johnson was employed by Condon Bros. Seedsmnen for 15 years, retiring 15 years ago. Survivors besides Mrs. McDonald, include another daughter, Mrs. C.W. Svendsen, Pompano Beach, Fla.; a son, William, Milwaukee; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 9 a.m. Tuesday in St. Joseph cathedral, Sioux Falls. The rosary will be recited at 9 p.m. Wednesday in O'Conner funeral home, Elgin. Burial will be at 11:15 a.m. Thursday in Mount Hope cemetery, Elgin.
