John Jopling, aged 56, died yesterday at the family home, 215 Cool street, of complications. For many years he was engaged as mine foreman at the Gaylord colliery. He was interested in the welfare of the community and at one time served for one year as borough treasurer. He was a member of the Odd Fellows. Surviving are the following children: Mrs Harry Shellhamer, Plymouth; Joseph Jopling, Larksville; Mrs Frank Winton, Kingston; Mrs. Albert Patton, Plymouth, and John Jopling, at home. One brother, Henry Jopling, Chicago, and two sisters, Mrs. George Walker, Plainsville, Pa., and Mrs. Sadie Harding of Tunkhannock. The funeral will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock with services conducted at the family home by Rev. Andrew M. Brown, of Kingston. Interment will be in Odd Fellows' Cemetery at Pittston.
