Bill worked as a banker for 47 years. Following his retirement, he enjoyed woodworking, maintaining his yard and always helping his daughters and grandsons with any project. Known by many for doing extensive genealogy and volunteering his time at local cemeteries, he served on the Board of Directors for the Ballston Spa Village Cemetery from 2017-2021.
Bill loved nothing more than spending time with his grandsons, who will greatly miss their O'Pa. He and Eli were frequently found at the USS Slater and NYS Military Museum together. Thomas loved spending time with him doing all kinds of projects and listening to his stories. Nicky enjoyed watching shows with him and having O'Pa cheer him on at sporting events.
A special place for Bill was 'Little Camp', where he whittled walking sticks for the boys, took them fishing and enjoyed sitting around the campfire with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years Sandra, and their daughters Suzanne Sicard (Eric) and Beth Sheridan (Andrew); and his beloved grandchildren Eli Sicard, Thomas Sheridan, and Nicky Sheridan. He is predeceased by his sister, Janice Alund.
Services will be private at the request of the family. Memorial contributions in memory of Bill may be made to the Ballston Spa Cemetery, PO Box 231, Ballston Spa, NY 12020.
