Audrey was a native of Millville having spent her entire life there. She worked as a seamstress in a Vineland clothing factory; but for the most part she was a homemaker. Audrey also delivered 'The Daily Journal ' newspaper for many years. She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Millville. She enjoyed playing cards, needlecrafts, and spending time with her family. She is survived by five sons, Percy F. Jr.; Harry; Buddy; Michael; and Johnny, all of Millville; six daughters, Catherine M. Gandy; Audrey Gandy; Edith Dilks; all of Millville, Evelyn Fullerton of Vineland, and Billie Cushner and Ruthie McCracken both of Milleville, one brother, James Smith of Milleville, and one sister, Helen Biggs of Millville; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Audrey was preceded in death by her husband, Percy F. Bates, Sr.; and two daughters, Pearl Jauss and Jerri Bates.
