Langston Delaney Funn who spent his childhood and young adult years in Calvert County, Maryland, passed away November 16, 2007, at Prince George's General Hospital in Cheverly, Maryland.

He was a member of his family home church Patuxent United Methodist in Calvert County where he served until leaving home to attend college.

Langston received his elementary and high school education in the public schools of Calvert County. He graduated from William Sampson Brooks High School in 1959, where his father was principal and from Bowie State University in Bowie, Maryland.

He was a businessman and employed as a Personnel Director for several years at Bowie University. He faithfully served his country in the U. S. Army in Vietnam and received an honorable discharge after completing full military service.

Langston leaves to cherish his lovingly memories a beloved Family: devoted daughter, LaMarr T. Funn; two brothers, Malcolm L. and Charles O. Funn; a sister-in-law, Annette J. Funn; grandchildren, Princess, Trinity and Noel; nephews, Kelby, Kyle and Kristopher Funn; an ex-wife Carlene Reid; the Brown family from Surry County, VA; the Funn family from Powhatan County, VA; and a host of friends and associates.

He was preceded in death by parents, Horace G. and Elizabeth Brown Funn and former wife, Courtney Harris Funn.

Family visitation and viewing was held on Monday, November 26, 2007, Sewell Funeral Home, 1451 Dares Beach Road, Prince Frederick, MD, from 1pm to 3pm and 5pm to 7pm. Funeral service was held at 11am on Tuesday, November 27, 2007, with Family Hour at 10am, at Peoples Congregational United Church of Christ, 4704 13th Street, Northwest, Washington, DC. Rev. Rubin Tundai, officiated. Internment was on Wednesday, November 28, 2007, at 11am, at Cheltenham Veterans Cemetery, 11301 Crain Highway, Cheltenham, MD.
