On June 6, 1964 he married Charlotte Kopetsky at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, Two Rivers. Over the years Robert was employed with the Mishicot Co-op, Hamilton Industries, Oil Rite, and retired from Humana. Robert was also a longtime member of the Two Rivers Lions Club. He loved spending time with family. Robert enjoyed being at the cottage, boating, swimming and mopeding. He also enjoyed going out to eat and a pint of whiskey sour with olives.
Survivors include his two daughters and sons-in-law: Tina and Earl DeLong, Two Rivers, Becky and Keith Challoner, Sun Prairie; three grandaughters Jillian DeLong, Katherine and Travis Knaggs, and Sydney and Dylan Thorson, one sister Alice Bonfigt, Manitowoc; two brothers and three sisters-in-law; Mary Jean Bonfigt, Kimberly, Francis and and Pat Bonfigt, Ben and Norma Bonfigt, all of Two Rivers. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. As well as his loving cat Rocket.
He was also proceeded in death by his wife Charlotte Bonfigt; one brother Raymond Bonfigt; parents-in-law: Gerald and Joan Kopetsky; one sister-in-law Sharon Bonfigt; and his wonderful cat, Fritz. Cremation has occurred. A memorial service to celebrate Robert's life will be held on Friday, January 27, 2023 at 11:00 am at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, 3201 Mishicot Road, with Rev. Carl Schmitt officiating. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Friday, January 27, 2023 at the church from 9:00 am until the time of service at 11:00 am.
