Services for Alice Cochrane, 78, of Hanceville, will be at 3 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 16, 2001 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, with burial in Pilgrim's Rest Cemetery. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service. Williams-McCracken Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Cochrane died Tuesday, Aug. 14 at Cullman Regional Medical Center. She was born March 23, 1923 in Carrollton to Jimmy W. and Estelle Winborn Akin. She was a machine operator for Westinghouse. She was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include a husband, Johnny Cochrane of Hanceville; a daughter, Jeanette Caples of Hanceville; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the church.
