Robert S. Pauley, 66, of Ripley, passed away Friday, February 22, 2008, at Jackson General Hospital, Ripley.
He was born July 28, 1941, at Charleston, a son of the late Garfield Pauley Sr. and Meadie Long.
He was retired from Foot Mineral of New Haven, was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a lifetime member of the VFW Post 5501.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years Viola Pauley of Ripley; sons Danny Pauley and wife Rhonda of Ripley and Billy Pauley and wife Betty of Ravenswood; daughters Tressie Blackwell and husband Jessie of Ripley, Bobbie Jo McGowan and husband Gene of Ripley and Deedee Richards and husband William of Kenna; brother Garfield Pauley Jr. and wife Eveline of Portland, OH; half brothers Michael and Paul Pauley of Wisconsin; half sisters Fran and Linda of Ruffard; 12 grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Elizabeth Pauley, daughter Theresa Pauley and grandson Troy Ray Richards.
Services will be held today, February 26, 2008, at 1 p.m. at Vail Funeral Home, Ripley, with Pastor David Sanderson officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery, Ripley, with Veteran's Rites provided by the VFW Post 107. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home
