Rev. Fred W. Beyer, 94, Billings, passed away Sunday morning, February 24, 2008, in Cox Walnut Lawn Hospital, Springfield. He was born January 19, 1914, in Billings to John Martin and Emma (Krug) Beyer. Rev. Beyer was a member of the Aurora Presbyterian Church. He had formerly served as pastor for several churches and had been active in the Downtown Kiwanis Club in Springfield for many years prior to retirement. His parents, two brothers, and a daughter, Judith Ann Arnott, preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Rayetta (Cantrell) Beyer, of the home; his son and his wife, John and Mary Ruth Beyer, Billings; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; other relatives and a host of friends. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 27, 2008, in St. Peter's United Church of Christ, Billings, with Pastor Melana T. Scruggs officiating, under the direction of Meadors Funeral Home, Billings. Burial will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery in Billings. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, in the funeral home.
