John C. Buckland, 89, of St. Charles, IL went to his eternal home to reunite with his loving wife and family that preceded him on Thursday, 19 Jan 2023.

Born 26 Oct 1933 at Hinton he was the son of the late William Elbert and Maggie Susan Cox Buckland. John was a former carpenter employed by the Hines Lumber Co., he was a very creative person who loved making bird houses, working with wood and tending his garden. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Ilene Marie Johnson Buckland; three brothers, William Cecil Buckland, Carson Lee Buckland and Okey Alvin Buckland; seven sisters, Aretta Buckland, Bethel Gray Buckland, Maycle Geneva Spain, Dorothy Anne Lilly, Hallie Ruth Buckland, Ina Susan Cash and Julia Fair Lowry.

Those left to cherish his memory include three children, six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, a very dear friend, Janet Guth and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be held 12:00 pm Monday, 30 Jan 2023 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor Robbie Merritt officiating. Burial will follow in the Valley View Cemetery at Powley's Creek. Friends may call from 11:00 am until service time on Monday at the funeral parlors.
