Allen Alvin Barkhausen, 70, of Waverly, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, January 24, 2023, at his home in Waverly surrounded by his family.
Allen was born on June 23, 1952, the son of Alvin and Alice (Crooks) Barkhausen.
Allen grew up in the Waverly area and was a 1970 graduate of Waverly-Shell Rock High School.
He was united in marriage to Debra West, and they were later divorced.
He worked from 1973-2010 as an assembler at John Deere in Waterloo.
He was patriotic with a full respect for veterans that served our country.
He enjoyed classic rock music, huge fan of Elvis Presley, a thrifty antique collector, enjoyed fishing, loved collector vehicles and had a deep love for his black velvet whiskey.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Eugene.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 31, 2023, at the Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home in Waverly with Rusty Van Wey officiating. Burial will be held in Harlington Cemetery in Waverly. Visitation will be held on Monday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home and also for one hour prior to services on Tuesday at the funeral home.
