Dr. Elizabeth (Liz) Andrews Nickle Arnett passed away on December 10, 2022 in Woodruff, SC after an extended illness. Dr. Arnett was the daughter of Cliff and Libbie Nickle of Hughes, Arkansas. Liz was born on May 14, 1947 in Memphis, TN. After graduating from Hughes High School, she attended the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville where she was a member of Delta Gamma Fraternity. Liz's service to Delta Gamma continued throughout her life. For many years she supported the Delta Gamma chapter at Furman University as treasurer of the House Corporation Board. She then took a very active role in supporting the colonization of the Delta Gamma chapter at Clemson University, continuing as a Chapter Advisor for many years. Upon graduation from Arkansas, Liz was awarded a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education. She went on to earn her Masters of Education, Education Specialist, and Doctor of Education Administration at the University of South Carolina, Columbia.

After completing her education at the University of Arkansas, Liz relocated to Woodruff, South Carolina where she taught for 22 years. She then joined East Educational Services as an Account Executive, serving schools in the upstate region of South Carolina and all of western North Carolina for 28 years.

Emma Gray United Methodist Church was also an important part of Liz's life. She served as Lay Leader, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, as well as other positions of responsibility within the church family.

In retirement Liz and Tommy enjoyed spending time together traveling, enjoying the outdoors, listening to music and watching movies. Liz even convinced Tommy to learn how to ride horses, a lifelong passion of hers!

Liz is survived by her husband, Tommy Arnett of Woodruff, SC; sisters, Mary Louise Blanks of Philadelphia, MS, and LTC (Ret) Margaret Anne Savelle (Stephen) of Tullahoma, TN; brother, Preston Nickle of North Little Rock, AR; niece, Beth Blanks of Los Angeles, CA; nephews, Adam Blanks of Loveland, CO, and Drew and Nick Savelle of Tullahoma, TN; and cousins coast to coast.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, December 17, 2022 at the First Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Woodruff, S.C. with the Reverend Andy Watson officiating.
