Lance E. Fontanne Sr., age 73, of Rockford, Illinois passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his loving family, on Wednesday, January 25, 2023. Lance Sr. was born in Rockford, IL on May 22, 1949 to Jerome and Marion Fontanne. In 1967 Lance Sr. graduated from Guilford High School then continued his education at Rock Valley College, studying Music Theory. His love for music was lifelong while having a devoted career as an over the road truck driver. Along with his love for music he enjoyed antique cars and taking care of his beloved dogs.
Lance Sr. is survived by his wife, Christine Fontanne; children Bonneville (Dominick Dolio) Fontanne and Lance (Rebecca Deiter) Fontanne Jr. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jerome and Marion Fontanne; first wife, Kathy Fontanne.
A Visitation will be held on January 31, 2023 from 1pm until a Time of Sharing Memories at 2pm at Sunset Funeral Home (8800 N. Alpine Road, Machesney Park, IL 61115). Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
