Rollie Polzin, age 85, of 1110 No. 8th Street, Manitowoc, died Sunday, December 4, 2011 at Aurora BayCare in Green Bay.

Rollie was born October 28, 1926 in Beaver Dam, son of the late Clement and Elsa (Schindel) Polzin. He gradated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1944. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marines serving during WWII. Rollie was employed as a supervisor at Weyerhaeuser until his retirement. He was a member of Ducks Unlimited and the Manitowoc Co. Fish and Game.

Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law: Susan and Kent Miller, Manitowoc; Diane and Michael Blaha, Manitowoc; Amanda and Henderson Cooper; Los Angeles, CA; two sons and one daughter-in-law: Ted Polzin, Manitowoc; Tom and Carrie Polzin, Two Rivers; six grandchildren: Crystal, Matthew, Jake, Taylor, Alex and Justin; two great grandchildren: Clovis and Brandyn; and one sister: Irene Karst, Milwaukee. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive.

He was preceded in death by his wife: Gretchen Moffatt; one sister and two brothers-in-law: Ha and John Kastenmeier and Arthur Karst.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 10, 2011 at the Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc. Officiating at the service will be Deacon Alan Boeldt. Cremation has occurred at All-Care Cremation Center, Manitowoc, and Rollie will be laid to rest at Knollwood Memorial Gardens. Military Honors will be accorded by the V.F.W. Otto Post #659.

The family will greet relatives and friends on Saturday, December 10, 2011 at the Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, from 930 a.m. until 10:45 a.m.

The Pfeffer Funeral Home and All-Care Cremation Center, Manitowoc, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.

Rollie engaged many years of hunting and fishing with his friends and canine companions (Pat & Mike), relaxing at his and Gretchen's cabin in Crivitz and "Driving".
The family would like to send a special thank you to the entire staff at Aurora BayCare Medical Center and the chaplain for making dad's journey so comfortable.
