George J. Bergalis, 79 years of age, of Sewall's Point, Florida passed away on Sunday, January 22, 2023.

He was born November 9, 1943 in McAdoo, Pennsylvania to Bernard and Helen (Lazur) Bergalis. George lived in Still Creek and graduated from Tamaqua High School and Bloomsburg University. He served honorably in the United States Army as a Sharpshooter and was stationed in Japan.

In 1967, George married Anna Kristin Cathcart. They moved to Fort Pierce, Florida in 1978 to enjoy the Florida sunshine and warm weather and raise their beautiful daughters.

George enjoyed being an active member of his local and business community. He was the Finance Director for the City of Fort Pierce, Florida for nearly forty years and served on numerous committees and boards. During his years of retirement, George's favorite pastime was evenings at the family home in Sewall's Point overlooking the Indian River while playing ball by the pool with his beloved dogs. He enjoyed his weekly lunches with his lifelong friends and former co-workers from his days in local government. George and Anna Kristin travelled often to Key West where he could relax and appreciate being outdoors.
