Mr. Eugene Hamilton Brown was born on March 26, 1936, to the late Major and Mary Brown, in New Kent, VA.

In November of 1955, he was united in holy matrimony to Doris Armstead. This union was blessed with eight children.

He made his mark at the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation as a Master craftsman of the Bootshop. He retired from the foundation after forty years of dedicated service. He was also pictured in history books as a bootmaker, and featured on the 700 Club for Colonial Williamsburg. Mr. Brown was an entrepreneur and had many businesses including Healthcare transportation, Brown's Auto Sales, and a Nightclub, to name a few. He was a lover of cars and he owned quite a collection, but one of his most prized possessions was his shiny Blue Corvette. He loved to laugh and eat good. He was loved, highly respected, and the King of the Brown family.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Major and Mary Brown, sons, Claude E. Brown and Eric Q. Brown, and sisters, Elizabeth Rush and Ann White.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories his wife of sixty-eight years, Doris Brown; daughters, Vanessa Brown, Donna Ashmon (Arnold), and Lesley Brown; sons, Kelvin Brown (Helen), Victor Brown (Patricia), and Dwight Brown; sisters, Audrey Perry and Doris Leon; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A service to celebrate Eugene's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 1, 2023, at Bethel Restoration Center. Livestream will be available at the beginning of the service. Interment to follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery. Mr. Brown may be viewed from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. Facial coverings are required for all services.
