GORDON K. STEEBER
(1926 - 1979)
Gordon K. Steeber, 53, of 1119 Elm St., Manitowoc, died Sunday in Bellin Hospital, Green Bay.
Funeral services will be 9:30 a.m. Wednesday in Pfeffer Funeral Home and 10 a.m. in Holy Innocents Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. Leo J. Schmitt will officiate and burial will be in Knollwood Memorial Gardens, Town of Kossuth.
Mr. Steeber was born Feb. 5, 1926, in the Town of Kossuth, son of the late Edward and Blanche Sykora Steeber. He resided in Manitowoc County all his life, attended St. Joseph Parochial School, Kellnersville, and was graduated from Lincoln High School, Manitowoc. Mr. Steeber had been employed a a welder at F.C. Heiden Inc. for 31 years and was very active as a bowler and golfer in Manitowoc. He presently served as vice president of Meadow Links Golf Association. Mr. Steeber was a veteran of World War II, serving with the United States Navy from May 25, 1944 to June 22, 1946.
Survivors include four brothers, William and Clifford of Milwaukee, Edward of Spokane, Wash., and Norbert of France; two sisters, Mrs. Elaine Corvington of Akron, Ohio, and Mrs. John (Germaine) Suchomel of Manitowoc and his uncle with whom he resided, Martin J. Steeber.
Friends may call in Pfeffer Funeral Home 4 p.m. to 9 pm. Tuesday, where a prayer service will be at 7:30 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Heart Association.
